The 25th Powerpol National Energy and Heating Congress has concluded!

One of the key points of the event was the panel “Biogas and Biomethane – Building an Efficient Distributed Energy Sector,” moderated by Adam Wawrzynowicz. The discussion focused on the challenges and opportunities for developing this industry in Poland, and Wawrzynowicz emphasized the growing importance of the competitiveness of the European economy in the context of the Clean Industrial Deal, which aims to accelerate decarbonization and secure the future of the industry.

Panel participants pointed out that the sector is developing dynamically – nearly 440 biogas cogeneration plants are already operating in Poland, and as many as 800 biomethane plant designs are awaiting the issuance of connection conditions, with 300 already having them issued. Artur Zawisza emphasized that existing installations should be the starting point for further action. Kamil Kozłowski pointed out that the industry is increasingly focusing on larger projects – currently submitted environmental applications already concern installations with a capacity of over 1 MW, often even 2 MW or more.
